Bleep — Terms of Use

Last updated: 20 July 2026

These terms apply to your use of Bleep ("the app"), an independently developed app ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Bleep you agree to them. They supplement Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies.

1. What Bleep is — and is not

Bleep is a personal organiser that helps clinicians keep track of jobs, referrals, and handover during a shift.

Bleep is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, monitoring, or treatment, and nothing in the app should be treated as clinical guidance. You remain fully responsible for your own clinical judgement and decisions, and you must always follow your employer's and local trust's policies and procedures. The app is an aid to personal organisation — never a substitute for clinical records, official handover processes, or your hospital's own systems.

2. Who may use Bleep

Bleep is intended for use by healthcare professionals and students in the course of their work. It is not directed at children.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

You are responsible for the information you choose to enter and share. Because your data is stored only on your device, you are also responsible for your device — we cannot recover data from a lost, broken, or wiped phone.

4. Live shift groups

Shift groups sync end-to-end encrypted data between the phones of the group's members and are automatically deleted when the shift ends. They are provided as-is: sync depends on your device's connectivity, and a group's contents are gone once it is deleted. Do not treat a shift group as a record-keeping system.

5. Tips

Bleep is free. The optional tip jar lets you make a one-off voluntary payment to support development. Tips are processed by Apple as in-app purchases, unlock no features, are not a subscription, and — being voluntary contributions — are not refundable by us. Any refund requests are handled by Apple under their standard terms.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content (excluding what you enter) are ours. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in line with Apple's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app except where the law permits.

7. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, or that reminders and notifications will always be delivered — do not rely on the app as your only prompt for time-critical tasks.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including loss of data, missed reminders, or any clinical decision made or not made. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Changes

We may update the app and these terms from time to time. If we change the terms materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Ending use

You can stop using Bleep at any time by deleting the app; because your data lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your data. We may withdraw or suspend the app if required.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless the law where you live gives you mandatory rights to something different.
